INTRODUCTION

The Woodcarvers of Northwest Arkansas is an organization binging together people with a common interest in carving. It further enhances the members’ interests and abilities through exchange of ideas and information. It also promotes the art of woodcarving and it provides a very enjoyable fellowship.

The Woodcarvers of Northwest Arkansas Club was founded in Rogers, Arkansas in 1977 by a small group of carvers. The annual shows were started in 1978. It was incorporated as a non-profit corporation on June 5, 1984. The club has steadily grown and now has over 50 members.

The objectives of the club are:

c    To foster and perpetuate the creative art of carving and sculpting of any medium.

c    To provide learning opportunities  by sharing knowledge, patterns, and skills with club members.

c    To encourage a greater appreciation of wood and other media in artistic expression.

 

The club provides many services and activities including the following:

    Club meeting on 2nd Monday of each month at Foxfire in Rogers, Arkansas
        6:30 – 8:30 pm (business meeting and program) (See location map)

    Show and Tell at each monthly meeting (See main menu for examples)

    “Carve-in” Meetings are held on each Sunday 12:30 pm – 3:30pm, Tuesday 12:30 pm – 3:30 pm,
    Thursday 6:30pm – 8:30pm. All Carve in meetings are held at Foxfire in Rogers Arkansas

    Special seminars by nationally recognized instructors (see main menu for current schedule)

    Woodcarvers of Northwest Arkansas Annual Show in the Fall of each year

    Special meetings include an Annual Picnic and an Annual Christmas Dinner

    Club members exhibit carvings for the general public at: Mercy Health Center 3101 Hwy 102 and at the Rogers Activity Center at 315 W. Olive, both in Rogers, Ar
